All Japan Day was born from a crisis developing in the import motor enthusiast community. Local car shows involving Japanese imports were losing focus on what the enthusiast wants at a car show - a oppurtunity to admire and and talk about the sensational vehicles on display with out being distracted by gimmicks or high prices.
And that's exactly what the inaugural All Japan Day on 27th April 2008 provided.
Over 200 cars spanning nearly 5 decades helped push away the rain clouds and put on a show not seen for some time. From a barn-find Toyota Lite-stout and an IMMACULATE Datsun KP510 to Honda's NSX supercar and national level drift cars, AJD had something for everyone.
And just to prove it's not all about us, the Surf Life Saving Association of South Australia were the gratefull recipients of over $900 raised by All Japan Day 2008 entry fees and donations from spectators and entrants. Thankyou to everyone that contributed.
The All Japan Day committee is very keen to increase the number of entrants with classic Japanese cars, as this has been another segment of the enthusiast market that has all but been forgotten in recent years.
We are very excited about building on our inaugural event we hope its success will encourage entrants from interstate (maybe even overseas? Mazda please send us a 787B racer!) in future years.
So, come and enjoy us for a relaxing day out and be dazzled by some of Australia's finest Japanese automobiles.
